Weinman accepts award from Seton Hill

Junior Kim Weinman has the opportunity not many juniors get. She is eligible to win a $78,000 scholarship to Seton Hill University in Greensburg.
Weinman, along with two other students, were chosen for the Women in Science Day award presented by Seton Hill. She was nominated by chemistry teacher Mr. Michael Busato.
“The awards ceremony was really cool,” said Weinman. “The hall that it was in was beautiful.”
The ceremony was on Dec. 16 at Seton Hill. Weinman and her parents were able to go to the ceremony for the day and experience the festivities.
“The thought of winning a $78,000 scholarship is just mind blowing,” said Weinman.
There are guidelines that the recipients have to maintain in order to be eligible for the scholarship.
“We have to maintain a good GPA, an SAT score of 1170, and you have to attend the award ceremony” in the spring, said Weinman.
“It would mean the world for me to be able to get that scholarship.” said Weinman.
