Fullem receives recognition for the arts
Lily Fullem was nominated along with two other seniors for the Westmoreland Cultural Trust 19th Annual Achievement in the Arts Award Celebration. Fullem was nominated by Mrs. Michelle Zamperini.
“Lily is such a nice young lady,” said Mrs. Zamperini. “She can become any (fictional) character you ask her to be.”
The celebration will be on May 21 at the Greensburg Garden and Civic Center, and the nominees will be honored by Judge Richard E. McCormick Jr. of Greensburg. Fullem, a senior, will receive a meal, t-shirt, and a certificate for her achievement.
“I feel really honored,” said Fullem. “I am usually known for musical stuff, so this is really something different.”
Fullem is the president of the chorus, vice president of Tri-M Musical Honor Society, and is also in musical arts. She also attended honors choir and WCMEA County Chorus this year.
“Lily is versatile and can make anyone smile,” said Mrs. Zamperini. “I nominated her because of her personality.”
Fullem is very excited to be able to experience the event along with some of her classmates.
“I wasn’t the lead in the play this year,” said Fullem, “so I wasn’t expecting to get (nominated), but I can’t wait to go to the celebration.”
