Community member continues to make impact at Southmoreland
For over 40 years, Mr. Paul Brittain has been a part of the Southmoreland community. Whether it’s taking photos or announcing at football games, he always finds a way to contribute.
“I have been the football announcer for 29 seasons,” said Mr. Brittain. In addition to football, has also been the announcer for soccer and basketball.
Because Mr. Brittain is a Southmoreland graduate, he feels a strong connection with the school. He is currently the adviser of the yearbook and has taken senior pictures for many Southmoreland students.
“My wife Kathleen and I started a part time photography business a few years ago. We take mostly seniors, families, and sport teams,” said Mr. Brittain.
Junior Kaelei Whitlatch is a part of the yearbook staff and enjoys working with Mr. Brittain.
“He always has unique ideas and is super creative,” said Whitlatch. “He tries to give people equal opportunities, no matter who they are, and I really respect him for that.”
Mr. Brittain has many upcoming plans for the future.
“In 2019, we will have the 55th graduating class and the yearbook will reflect that. It will include a lot of history that most students aren’t aware of. I have no plans to slow down.”
