Swishes for Wishes to raise money for Make-A-Wish

Cheerleaders from Southmoreland and Mount Pleasant Area high schools will square off on the basketball court March 15  in a game of basketball, while both school’s boys basketball teams cheer the girls on and perform a halftime routine. Both teams raise money for this event to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Efforts over the past three years have helped to grant wishes for children for a vacation of their choosing.

This year the event is being held March 15 at Mount Pleasant Junior Senior High School. Tickets are being sold at SHS during all lunches as well as at the door.

“It’s a great way to end the season, playing with my fellow cheerleaders is always fun to do,” said sophomore cheerleader Colby Cain. Senior Zoe Carson agreed.

“Everyone should come to this event,” Carson said. “It is hilarious to see the boys perform, and we (the cheerleaders) put on a good show, too.”
