Flower sale supports greenhouse efforts
The second annual flower and seedling sale for Mr. Larry Ansell’s biotechnology classes was a success. This year, the sale sold over $3,000 worth of flowers and vegetables that were grown in the greenhouse.
“The best sellers were the hanging baskets and annual flowers,” said Mr. Ansell. “We met our sales goal within the first public sale day. We raised over $3,000.”
Mr. Ansell said the turnout and sales for both days “was steady.”
With the money raised, Mr. Ansell plans on using it to make improvements to the greenhouse and explore new opportunities with wholesale as well as individual sale.
“I would like to coordinate more with local businesses,” said Mr. Ansell.
Mr. Ansell was very pleased with the results of this year’s sale.
“It was very satisfying,” said Ansell. “All the work put into it has paid off.”
