Moore to attend United States Naval Academy

Senior Margaret Moore will be attending the United States Naval Academy this fall to pursue a degree in nuclear engineering while playing basketball there at the division one level.

Moore is an all-section basketball player who will blend her dedication to basketball and academics to study at the Naval Academy. She leaves for the Naval Academy at the end of June and begins basic training by being inducted on June 28. She starts classes in August.

Moore did not start playing basketball until her freshman year, and now she will be playing division one basketball. She played for the western PA Bruins travel team, where she has played in Kansas, Texas, Florida, Georgia, and Colorado in order to get exposure in front of college coaches. She went to Navy’s Elite Camp this past June and committed in July.

Moore is very passionate about serving her country, and is very excited for this great opportunity.

“I am really looking forward to the challenges ahead of me, and I’m very grateful for this opportunity,” she said. “I am thankful for the Navy Women’s basketball staff for giving me this opportunity as well.”
