Show choir performs at Fright Night
As Halloween nears, the thrill of the season increases. On Oct. 28, the Southmoreland show choir engaged in the festivities and performed at Kennywood’s annual fright night.
The show choir boarded buses to head to McKeesport High School. Here, they spent six hours singing and learning choreography for “Thriller” by Michael Jackson, “Break Free” by Ariana Grande, and “Dancing Queen” by ABBA.
“It was a lot of fun. Everyone was making jokes and messing around in between the songs and we all laughed so hard it hurt,” said Skylin Nicholson.
The choir got an hour break to celebrate the hard work and were very entertained by students from Mckeesport High School, who spent the hour singing and dancing.
“They were so funny,” said senior Mindy Wagner. “It actually reminded me of something from a movie.”
Southmoreland performed on Kenneyville Stage, and many students said they enjoyed the event.
“The performance was OK,” Wagner said. “The memories I made and the laughs I shared made up for it.”
After the performance, the choir spent the night riding rides, getting scared, and eating food.
“Rain or not, I really loved the day I had experienced,” said Nicholson. “I cannot wait until next year to do it all over again!”
“It’s my senior year, so I won’t get the chance to do this again,” said Wagner. “But I couldn’t have asked for a better time. It really made my senior year a bit more special.”
