Griffiths remains in state tournament; Mauro ousted
As day one of state competition comes to a close for both Southmoreland wrestlers, one remains in the race to seek state gold; the other has been eliminated.
Tyler Griffiths remains in the tournament as he defeated Colton Badcock of Benton to advance to the quarterfinal round that will take place today (March 10). Competition resumes Friday at 9 a.m.
As for Mauro, his journey and season came to a close after suffering two losses in both rounds. His first loss was to Cole Fuller of Western Wayne in a pin in just 16 seconds.He moved down to the losers bracket where he received a bye. His next match was against Hunter Post of Muncy, who pinned Mauro in 2 minutes and 58 seconds.
