Weinman re-ignites passion for singing
From spending countless amounts of time on homework to spending long days working at her job, junior Kim Weinman can never find the time to practice the talent she was born with.
Weinman has been passionate about singing since she was 9 years old. She has won numerous contests including the annual competition at the Mount Pleasant Glass Festival, Geyer Theater singing contest, and the school talent show. During this volleyball season, Weinman sang the national anthem at the team’s home games and plans to sing the national anthem at the Southmoreland varsity boys basketball games.
“Singing is one of the few things I’m good at,” Weinman said, “and I truly enjoy doing.”
Weinman has made several videos on the social media app vine where she has earned over 4,000 likes on her cover of the song Bleeding Love by Leona Lewis. She would like to start posting more singing videos and create a YouTube channel dedicated to her singing.
“I want to do something with my given talent,” said Weinman.
Being blessed with a talent that people wish they had is enough to encourage Weinman to get back to doing what she loves: Singing her heart out.
