Boy’s Golf Team makes Playoffs after 26 years
For the first time in 26 years the Southmoreland Boy’s golf team has made it into the WPIAL Playoffs.
Josh Redding, Zack Stefens, Noah House, Corey Shaffer, Brock Grabiak, and Philip Lockhart are the top 6 from the team that will be competing next Tuesday with schools such as Mt. Pleasant, South Side Beaver, Burgettstown, and Carmichaels.
Next Tuesday at 9 AM on the Indian Run golf course the boys will tee off for a chance to advance into the championships.
“If we prepare the right way our skill level will be able to compete with any team that we go against,” said House. “We all just have to prepare for our best.”
The team is spending all of their time focusing on what they have to do to make history for Southmoreland.
“At practice we help each other with what we did wrong,” said Lockhart. “We’re getting help from a professional now on helpful tips.”
Senior Philip Lockhart wants to do everything he can for the team to succeed.
“I’m going to work on getting the team to think more alike,” said Lockhart. “We’re almost there but w.e need to get to a point where we almost know each other’s body language.”
The top 3 teams from each bracket will advance to Championships that will be held on Thursday, October 9th at Cedarbrook
