Mr. Michael Busato has always wanted to be an astronaut, so it was a far leap when he decided to become a teacher.

Busato went to Notre Dame for college, starting in biochemistry and pre-med classes. When he finished, his major was government and pre-law. He worked a couple of years in a test lab, but then he wanted to change his career. He attended California University and earned his teaching certificate, which is far different than an astronaut.

“I still want to be an astronaut. I want to fly a spaceship,” said Busato. “I honestly never planned [to teach]. I just fell into it.”

Busato believes his goal as a teacher is helping his students realize how much intelligence they posses but do not utilize. He wants to try and teach them to use this.

If he had to give some sort of advice to someone it would be to know yourself and to stay true to that.

“If you know something is wrong,” said Busato, “don’t follow someone else in doing it.”
